About

I'm a junior at Hofstra studying Computer Science and Cybersecurity, and I run Mend Labs, a one-person software studio that takes client contracts and builds its own products. I also lead iOS development part-time at LYVR, an airport layover planner on its way to the App Store. On the Coast Guard side I'm an Information Systems Technician in the Selected Reserve, where I keep networks and communications gear running and hold a DoD Secret clearance.

Those commitments compete less than people expect. Military IT taught me to document what I changed and to assume someone else has to fix it at four in the morning without me. That habit is most of how I write software now.

    An independent software studio I founded and run alone. It does two things: contract work for clients, and products of its own.

    • Took Stu.Do from an empty repository to the App Store in five months, and have shipped updates on a continuous release cycle since.
    • Handle the whole lifecycle myself, including design, engineering, App Store review, deployment, and the marketing site.
    • Registered as an LLC. I handle client acquisition and contracts myself.

    Part-time role leading iOS development for an airport layover planner that turns connection time into a planned part of the trip. It's live on the web and heading to the App Store.

    • Lead iOS development and code review for a team of engineers.
    • Own the path from the existing web app to a native iOS release, including App Store submission.
    • Plan the work in two-week milestones, report progress to the founder, and work with the founder on product direction and iOS-native features.

  3. Full-Stack Developer, Contract, Marine Connex

    Sole developer on a marketplace that connects boat owners with vetted marine service professionals. The marketing site is live and the platform is in final development.

    • Shipped the public site in Next.js and TypeScript, including an interactive US coverage map, a server-side Mapbox proxy that keeps the token off the client, and analytics gated behind consent that honors GPC and Do Not Track.
    • Building the customer, provider, and admin portals: 39 pages and 38 API routes, with role-guarded routing and an open-request lead marketplace that has claim and dispute flows.
    • Implemented email and OTP authentication on Supabase with trusted devices and multi-account switching, enforced all the way down to Postgres row-level security.
    • Built hybrid provider search: Postgres full-text with an OpenAI embedding fallback in pgvector, re-ranked by measured provider performance.

    • Hold a DoD Secret clearance and support IT operations in secure environments.
    • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network faults, and handle system administration, user accounts, and access controls.
    • Work to Coast Guard and DoD cybersecurity standards, maintaining documentation, inventories, and operational readiness.

An iOS planner built around how school actually works

Live on the App Store, version 0.3.0

Most student planners are generic task apps with a school skin. Stu.Do knows you have Calc on Mondays, that your syllabus has a grading policy in it, and that your group project needs somewhere to live other than a seven-person group chat.

It works fully offline. Everything is on the device by default, and signing in is optional: it buys you sync, group assignments, and chat, and nothing else changes if you never do.

Rebuilt from Flutter to React Native in place
Shipped the rewrite as an ordinary App Store update. Existing users kept their accounts and their local data through the migration, with nothing lost and nothing to re-enter.
Syllabus import that fills in a semester
A PDF syllabus is parsed server-side by an LLM in a Supabase Edge Function into courses, class times, assignments, exams, and grading policy. Nothing saves until you review and edit what it found.
Offline-first sync that survives real conditions
Changes sync one at a time, so a task edited on the subway reaches the account when signal comes back. Signing out leaves your data on the device and signing back in picks it up.
Three interactive home screen widgets
Today's tasks, current GPA, and semester progress, built with WidgetKit so the common case never requires opening the app.
Tested and built on automation
A 51-file Jest suite guards the logic, and iOS builds go out through Xcode Cloud.

Marine Connex

A marketplace for boat owners and marine service professionals

Marketing site live, platform in final development

Finding someone to fix a boat is still mostly word of mouth at the marina. Marine Connex puts vetted mechanics, divers, detailers, and electricians in one place, with the request, the messages, and the review attached to the job rather than scattered across text threads.

I'm the only developer on it. The marketing site is live, and I'm building the platform behind it against scope I define with the founding team.

Three portals, one codebase
Customer, provider, and admin experiences share a Next.js app, separated by route groups and role-guarded layouts. 39 pages and 38 API routes so far.
Authorization enforced in the database
Email and OTP auth on Supabase with trusted devices and multi-account switching, with the rules pushed down to Postgres row-level security rather than trusted to the app tier.
Hybrid search with a semantic fallback
Postgres full-text handles the query first. When confidence is low it falls back to OpenAI embeddings in pgvector, and results are re-ranked by measured provider performance.
Privacy signals honored in code
Analytics stay gated behind consent and respect GPC and Do Not Track. The Mapbox token lives behind a server-side proxy instead of in the browser.
